Dietitian vs. Nutritionist – what is the difference

I commonly get asked the question, 'what is the difference between a Dietitian and Nutritionist'? .

Instead of reinventing the wheel, I have added the below links that explain it in detail. Which better source than Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA)!

What to expect in a Dietetic Consultation?

Many of my clients have either a.) never seen a dietitian before, or b.) had a bad experience which left them confused and skeptical.

Below is an outline of how i like to run my sessions. Its nice for my clients to know what to expect beforehand so they leave feeling happy and motivated!

Initial Consultation: 30-40minutes:  I assess your situation and gather valuable information about your diet and lifestyle. Education and realistic suggestions are provided.

Review Consultation/s: 20-30minutes. Together, we will address your previous goals and I will help you develop additional ones for continued short and long-term health benefits. Continued nutritional education and support is provided.

Frequency of review consultations vary for each patient, but the average is usually 4 weeks, gradually extending to 6- 8 weeks and eventually, when required 🙂
